Spring-Time #3
Spring-Time wants to change the over-representation of male artists in Australian art galleries.
The third edition is curated by Melbourne-based artist Melissa Grisancich, who mixes different styles of street art, iconography and symbolism into her work.
The three-week-long exhibition brings together emerging and established women from the local and international art scene, and promises a broad and compelling mix of paintings, photography, film, ceramics, sculpture and print.
On the line-up is modern illustrator and designer Bonnie Eichelberger, known for her print work; as well as popular Melbourne graphic designer-turned-illustrator Alice Oehr.
Other artists include illustrator, printer and musician Steph Hughes; Canadian illustrator Tallulah Fontaine; and Italian painter Patrizia Cercamondi. Local feminist cooperative and zine-makers Ladies of Leisure will also have a thing or two to add.
The exhibition is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm, until November 4.
