Melbourne-based contemporary street artist Mysterious Al, originally from London, is known for staging walkthrough art shows in unusual locations – such as Blinking Into the Sunlight in an abandoned Collingwood warehouse.
But for his latest, immersive exhibition he’s dialling up the spookiness. Tapping into ’50s nostalgia, he’s taking over a rickety fairground ghost train, which he had to go “down a few rabbit holes” to find.
Step inside the 10-person, labyrinthine space to find a mix of animated characters, projections, special effects and more. There’ll be 70 new works across the train and an adjoining gallery space with more traditional painted and paper works.
