Spicy Challenge at Dodee Paidang

Basement restaurant Dodee Paidang has a wide-ranging menu containing dishes from all over Thailand. But it’s best known for its tom yum soup, which can be ordered at spice levels ranging from one to seven. Seven’s not to be underestimated – it’s beaten even seasoned chilli heads.

Now the restaurant has introduced Galaxy, a level-10 version of the soup. Through September, across seven designated rounds, it’s offering $100 restaurant vouchers to anyone who can finish a bowl ($18.90) in under five minutes.

The 20 fastest participants across all rounds are eligible to compete in the final on September 29, where they’ll eat for free. The fastest eater will win $1000 cash.

Rounds are held on Mondays and Saturdays from 2pm–3pm and 5pm–6pm: September 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21 and 23. The final round, on September 29, runs from 3pm–5pm.
