Think ballet is all pointe shoes and tutus? Think again.

See a fresh reimagining of one of The Australian Ballet’s most popular works. Spartacus tells the story of a gladiator-turned-hero who leads a slaves rebellion against the Roman Empire, finds love, and fights for freedom. It’s also an opportunity to see The Australian Ballet’s male dancers at their most powerful and athletic.

This new production is by Lucas Jervies, a choreographer, NIDA-trained director and a former dancer with The Australian Ballet. Spartacus is his passion project.

This world premiere will feature music by composer Aram Khachaturian and sets and costumes by Jérôme Kaplan, who also created the designs for Alexei Ratmansky’s Cinderella.
