So Frenchy So Chic 2020
Embrace the joie de vivre at historic Werribee Park for a summer weekend that brings provincial France to you.
This year’s line-up features Parisian musical royalty: singer-songwriter Lou Doillon, who comes to Melbourne with material from her third album, Soliloquy; throw-back disco rebel Corine; iconic new wave cover band Nouvelle Vague; and folk-blues-soul hybrid act Tété.
Afro-house and tropical bass fanatic and Gotan Project co-founder Philippe Cohen Solal will close out the day with a DJ set that’ll transport you straight to a hip Parisian cafe, with a je-ne-sais-quoi mix of electronica, tango and bossa nova.
A menu featuring France’s holy food grail of cheese boards, charcuterie, crepes and more await this year’s Francophile festival-goers.
You can pre-order deluxe picnic hampers from L’Hôtel Gitan, Milk the Cow and Bar Margaux, with offerings such as quiche Lorraine, leek and comté gruyere tart, a three-cheese confit onion and chive bun, and more.
There’s plenty to do beyond feasting and dancing: lounge in a hammock in the resort zone and treat yourself to a complimentary massage, try your hand at pétanque (French lawn bowls), or join the kids making flower crowns and face painting.
