Shakespeare Under the Stars: Twelfth Night
The Australian Shakespeare Company’s Under the Stars season is a summer staple, and this February it’s tackling one of Shakespeare’s greatest rom-coms.
Twelfth Night is a comedy involving shipwrecks, disguises, fools and mistaken identity, with witty wordplay and relatable characters. Join Viola, Duke Orsino and Countess Olivia in what may just be the most complicated love triangle of all time. For this run, it’s being directed by Glenn Elston. Look out for the modern references he's snuck in throughout.
Spread out picnic style, the audience will share the same open space as the actors, surrounded by lush greenery in a pocket of the Botanic Gardens. Bring your own picnic and bottle of wine or optimise on the on-site food and drink (which can be pre-ordered online and delivered to you). Chairs are also available to hire.
