Collingwood arts hub Schoolhouse Studios provides affordable work and exhibition spaces for young and emerging creatives. But on Sunday August 25 it’s opening its doors to the masses for the first instalment of Schoolhouse Market.
Shop handcrafted goods from local creatives: there’ll be Claire Lehmann ceramics, kokodama (the centuries-old technique used in hanging Japanese garden art) by Kokedama Mama, Gemma Campton’s totes and prints, Michael Fung’s leather-strapped bags, plus more. And get a whopping 50 per cent off lush greenery and pots from The Plant Exchange. If you’re feeling inspired, get crafty at an art workshop by Schoolhouse resident Mossfolks.
Then refuel with Mankoushe’s falafel from its on-site cafe and there’ll be sets by local indie-pop singer-songwriter Phia.
From 10am to 4pm.
