Russian-born American indie singer Regina Spektor is returning to Australia for her first performances here in six years. She will be playing one show each in Sydney and Melbourne.
The classically trained pianist, who has previously toured with the Strokes, Kings of Leon and Tom Petty, is performing in Melbourne in conjunction with the NGV’s MoMA at NGV Winter Masterpieces exhibition, and the following evening at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.
In the six years since Spektor’s last performances in Australia, the singer has been busy performing at music festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza, and fans of the hit show Orange is the New Black will recognise her voice from its theme song, You’ve Got Time.
Spektor will perform fan favourites such as Fidelity, Samson and The Call, as well as her covers of Hamilton’s Dear Theodosia and John Lennon’s Real Love.
Tickets go on sale Thursday May 17 at 11am.
