Rock’n’roll meets footy for a worthy cause.

Reclink Australia’s beloved Community Cup is back for another year, with a new theme to boot.

The annual fundraising event, now in its 24th year, will be inspired by Sly and the Family Stone’s 1960s classic Everyday People, encouraging diversity and inclusion, with more than 10,000 punters expected to turn out for the Melbourne event.

As usual, the local media and music industry will get behind the cup which will see the Silver Jubilee Rockdogs (Musicians) and the Megahertz (Triple R 102.7FM and PBS 106.7FM) clash in Abbotsford's Victoria Park on Sunday June 24.

There'll also be music from post-punk locals Cable Ties, legends The Aints!, Hiatus Kaiyote, The Cartridge Family and Rudely Interrupted. Aboriginal singer/songwriters Kutcha Edwards will perform this year's theme song.

Young Henrys is a supporter too, so grab a few beers, join the crowd and cheer on your team – it’s all for a good cause.

Funds raised will all go to much-needed specialist sport, recreation and art programs for at-risk youth, people with a mental illness or disability, people experiencing homelessness and domestic violence and those struggling with addiction.
