Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach 2017
Look out for Mick Fanning (sans shark) and Australia’s 2016 Women’s World Champion surfer, Tyler Wright, at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach. All-time legend Kelly Slater will also be competing.
This is the third event in the World Surf League World Tour, which brings together the world’s best surfers.
Wright’s brother, Owen, is also competing and is currently in second place behind Hawaii’s 2016 World Champion John John Florence.
The two previous tour stops were the Gold Coast and Margaret River. The World Tour has a total of 10 events at different international beaches.
The Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach runs April 12–24, but only on days with the best swell conditions. The Rip Curl Pro Twitter page is your best resource for live updates.
You can park there for $2 or take the free half-hourly Rip Curl Pro Shuttle Bus from Torquay and Jan Juc.
Keep track of heats and rounds in the lead up to the finals on the World Surf League website.
