QT Secret Rooftop Garden Bar
The QT rooftop bar isn’t a secret. But its rooftop garden bar is – and it’s back for another year from Friday October 22.
The hotel group has teamed up with King Valley winery Dal Zotto to turn the compact rooftop space into an Italian-inspired oasis, with an eye-poppingly colourful work called Chromaoasis by Jan Juc-based artist, Rowena Martinich.
To sip prosecco in the sun, access the colourful oasis via a laneway, staff elevator and back-of-house doorway. Because of Covid-19, the bar can only accommodate 50 people at a time – and they can all choose from the reserve-list wines, usually only for Dal Zotto wine-club members (this is the first venue in the country to have them). Expect early-2000s rieslings, a bold barbera and more.
Food-wise, there’ll be an Italian-leaning menu of snacks (including tempura polenta chips and truffle-oil fries), stone-baked pizzas (go for the spicy salami with ricotta) and gelato by Lavezzi.
There’ll also be tunes inspired by ’20s Italy, curated by Digital Wax founder Andrew Lewis, and bocce for those wanting to dial up the Italian vibes even further.
