Postal Lane Markets
In the past, Postal Lane behind H&M in the iconic Melbourne GPO has been home to small laneway eateries and cafes. But repeated lockdowns left it empty, so this summer it’s transforming into a semi open-air market to get people back into the CBD.
It’s open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only, with around 15 to 18 stallholders each day. On the lineup are florists Flowers Vasette and Flor Blooms; homewares retailers Issy Special, Younic, and The Stone Suite; Jasmine Alexa, Consequence of Change, Et Aliae and Eve C-T for fashion, jewellery and accessories; and beauty products from Vahy, Cinnamon & Clove and Oli Connective, among many others.
There’ll also be food and drink options from Epocha, Nama, Petit Prince Gourmet, Long Paddock Cheese and Great Ocean Road Gin, plus more beers, wine and spirits from the on-site bar. Expect live music and performances throughout the weekend.
The market is curated by communication strategist Kate Muir, who wrote to the owners of the GPO building with her idea for bringing life back into the laneway.
Sat & Sun 10am–6pm
Note: Closed on New Year’s weekend.
