Play On At Collingwood Arts Precinct with Whiskey Houston
Play On returns for its third series this September, bringing together some of Australia’s finest classical and electronic artists in a partially derelict former technical school.
Wrapping up the last night of the festival are Kristian Winther, leading the Play On Collective, and DJ Whiskey Houston.
Tonight’s performance by the Play On Collective, which includes some of Australia’s most accomplished string musicians who have played with all of Australia’s major orchestras, covers music by Rameau, Meale and Mendelssohn.
Whiskey Houston is a Melbourne music institution who has performed at events such as Sugar Mountain, the Comedy Festival and even overseas at NYC Pride.
The Collingwood Arts Precinct, a former TAFE college, is being transformed into a state-of-the-art performing arts venue due to open in 2018, but is hosting events in the meantime.
Beer and wine will be available courtesy of Sample and Cake Wines. Starts at 8pm.
Play On was founded in 2016 to bring classical and electronic music to new audiences in more authentic, unconventional venues, away from concert halls.
The last edition of Play On took over the Collingwood Underground Car Park back in April and featured Brooke Powers and Millú.
