Sileo Pizzeria Takeover at Shop225 and Il Caminetto

Thu 3rd October, 2024
5:00pm – 9:30pm
114 Pascoe Vale Road Moonee Ponds 3039
For two nights only, a lauded Italian pizza chef, Maha’s Shane Delia and two gun Melbourne pizzerias are coming together to raise money for Lifeline.

Italian pizzaiolo Andrea Brunetti and Maha chef Shane Delia are headed to sister restaurants Il Caminetto and Shop 225 for Mental Health Month. The two events will raise awareness for mental health, with all proceeds donated to crisis hotline Lifeline, which provides 24-hour mental-health support nationwide.

On October 2 hit Pascoe Vale’s Shop 225 to try Brunetti’s signature Non Chiamatemi Margherita (“Don’t Call Me Margherita”), a twist on the classic pizza featuring fior di latte, pesto, burrata and cherry tomato mayo, alongside the pizzeria’s usual menu. The following night, at Moonee Ponds’s Il Caminetto, he’ll be cooking his Solanum pizza, with burrata and eggplant parmigiana cream. Delia has created an exclusive pasta for both nights: pan-fried gnocchi with Lebanese-style lamb, roast tomato, cumin and olive oil.

Brunetti founded Sileo – Latin for “new start” – in the Piedmont region after a particularly difficult period, in which he was severely burnt at work, received a Tourette’s diagnosis, broke up with a long-time partner and experienced other misfortunes. He well understands the importance of spreading mental health awareness. His pizzeria was voted one of the best pizzerias in the world by Top 50 Pizza Italy in 2023.

Football player Ben Brown will also make an appearance at both venues as a guest of honour.
