Grau Projekt, the cavernous Clifton Hill art gallery by restaurateur Matt Bax, is reopening with a new solo show by artist Pimpisa Tinpalit.
Her spatial and conceptual installations reimagine everyday objects, and this show highlights her diversity across media: video, painting, sculpture and a live performance with Shibari crafted rope. Silence #1.5 draws inspiration from mythology and iconography, in an exploration of free will and autonomy.
For Grau Projekt's signature "artist-curated drinking", Tinpalit has created a contemplative tea hut with matcha from Bax's Samu. Tea rituals are secured by online bookings only.
Grau Projekt is open Wednesdays to Saturdays, from 12pm to 5pm.
The show is free; tea meditations cost $15 solo or $25 per pair.
