Melbourne cheese lovers who missed out on Cucinetta’s Parmesan Wheel Week can breathe a sigh of relief because the restaurant has heard their calls and will be serving lunchtime Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe – cheese and pepper – until the end of May.
Such was the success of Parmesan Wheel Week, the restaurant went through 25 kilograms of parmesan cheese, 100 kilograms of bucatini pasta and 6 kilograms of pecorino cheese, and sold more than 1000 bowls.
Due to the restaurant’s tiny size and limited seating, they simply couldn’t meet the demands of Melburnian parmesan-pasta fans in just one week, hence the new month-long lunch special.
The pecorino-cheese-wheel pasta lunch – a traditional Italian specialty of rigatoni with black pepper served straight from a pecorino cheese wheel – is available 12pm to 3pm daily, for just $23.
An extra $3 will add truffle, too. It's the perfect pre-winter warmer.
