Beci Orpin and Carla McRae join forces for a playful exhibition in Geelong.

What shape is play? That’s the question Melbourne artists Beci Orpin and Carla McRae will explore in their joint exhibition, Out of Bounds, at Boom Gallery.

Themes of play in both the mind and body will be explored in artworks including a series of paintings, wood cuts, an abstract playground installation ,and a magnetic wall full of shapes with which viewers can create their own playscape.

Both artists use bold colour in their work. Orpin’s art is bright, graphic, bold, feminine and dream-like. McRae uses crisp lines and strong colours, influenced by her comic-fuelled childhood on the Sunshine Coast.

The exhibition runs from June 14–July 15.

Opening hours:
Mon to Sat 9am–4pm
Sun 9am–3pm
