Orchestra Victoria: Meet at the Market Series

Orchestra Victoria is reinvigorating its performances with a fresh approach that’s making classical music more accessible to young audiences.

The Season 2025 program includes a three-part series Meet at the Market. Showcasing pieces from the orchestra’s Southbank Series, Meet at the Market’s hour-long performances will take place on March 28, July 25 and September 12. The location? North Melbourne’s Meat Market.

The Market’s distinctive heritage-meets-modern aesthetic contrasts with the usual classical music settings, creating a break from tradition. The orchestra’s also parting with its rep for formality by inviting audiences to arrive early, stay late, and chat.
