Schoolhouse Studios
81 Rupert Street, Collingwood
New York has bagels, Italy has pizza and Japan has okonomiyaki – a savoury pancake.

Hiroshima-born, London-based okonomiyaki master Fumio Tanga is bringing his craft to Melbourne for the Broad Island Shokudo (Japanese for cafeteria) pop-up.

Feast on Tanga's okonomiyaki layered with meat, seafood or vegetarian toppings, garnished with egg noodles and a savoury sauce. There will also be vegan options and other Japanese dishes.

Wash it all down with Japanese beers or natural wines from Patrick Sullivan.

Otologic is curating the music, with Simon TK from Wax’o Paradiso, Noise In My Head and Pjenné & Millú all providing tunes.

The pop-up will run from 7pm to 12am on Friday, 12pm to 12am on Saturday, and 12pm to 10pm on Sunday.
