Nuoto Da Sola (I Swim Alone)
After becoming single for the first time in her adult life, Melbourne-based photographer Bri Hammond doubled down with a solo trip to Europe.
Her latest exhibition Nuoto Da Sola (I Swim Alone) is a meditative collection of photos taken during that trip in the seaside city of Rimini, Italy, where Hammond found solace in swimming alone.
The photos capture the ordered calm of the numbered umbrellas and beach lounges, which are sectioned by colour and lie abandoned at sunset.
Hammond is a lifestyle and editorial photographer, and she has a knack for shooting people, places and objects with a quiet energy.
You can check out her work at Brunswick Street Gallery in August, or at the exhibition opening on Friday August 16 from 6pm to 9pm.
