The hilarious one-woman show that inspired the hit TV series is being broadcast from London's West End. (Sadly sans hot priest.)

Before it was a hit BBC TV show, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag was a hilarious, award-winning one-woman play, which premiered at Edinburgh Fringe in 2013.

Waller-Bridge has since performed the monologue – about an oversexed, unnamed owner of guinea pig-themed cafe grieving her best friend – to sold-out theatres in London and New York.

In October, a live recording of the play will be broadcast from London’s West End to Melbourne as part of the National Theatre’s groundbreaking project aimed at sharing its world-class theatre with overseas.

NT Live: Fleabag is screening from October 11 to 22 at Carlton’s Cinema Nova, and from October 11 to 16 at Cameo Cinemas in Belgrave, or at Palace Cinemas Como (in Toorak) and Brighton.

Information on individual session times and tickets are available online.
