Northside Locals Pop-Up
Cycling enthusiasts are getting a Northside Locals pop-up in Fitzroy until the end of April.
The pop-up cycling store, gallery and pilates studio is run by Melbourne cycling enthusiasts and owners of Northside Locals Malachi Moxon and Carmen Barry, and will provide customers with gear for their bikes, and wellbeing for their minds and bodies. Those interested in taking a pilates class can check times and book classes by sending a direct message to the Northside Locals Instagram.
Moxon's previous permanent store Northside Wheelers was the first store to bring Rapha cycling wear to Melbourne.
The shop is fitted out with cycling memorabilia that shows the sport's movement from a working class pursuit to its golden age from the 1940s to 1970s. Vintage cycling caps and jerseys hang from a hills hoist in the front window.
Many items on display come from Moxon's personal collection, and some are available for sale, but not everything has a price tag. Don't be shy to ask him if you're interested, even if the item isn't for sale, he'll at least have a story to tell.
