No One Is Watching You: Ronnie Van Hout

Thu 12th July, 2018 – Sun 21st October, 2018
Buxton Contemporary
Dodds St &, Southbank Blvd, Southbank 3006
An exhibition of sculpture, video, photography and more from an artist known for his "existential absurdism".

Buxton Contemporary is dedicated to one man's art collection. The Michael Buxton Collection is comprised of more than 350 works by 59 celebrated contemporary artists, and the recently opened Southbank gallery shares it – for free – with the public, much of it for the first time.

Its latest exhibition, the ironically titled No One Is Watching You, showcases work by Melbourne-based (New Zealand-born) artist Ronnie van Hout.

The multi-disciplinary show draws on a range of source material, from van Hout's childhood memories, to science fiction, popular culture and more, balancing comedy with tragedy to explore the modern human condition.

No One Is Watching You runs until October 21. More information here.
