Nabil Ansari’s Indian Bazaar at the Cricketers Bar
Pioneering Southeast Asian eatery Sunda isn’t reopening until November 11, and sous-chef Nabil Ansari is using his short break to run a pop-up Indian restaurant.
It’ll be at the Hotel Windsor’s Cricketers Bar, where he’s been slinging hot, ready-to-eat Indian street food for takeaway at a shared side hustle with pastry chef Felix Goodwin in the last weeks of lockdown.
This time he’s putting on an Indian bazaar with dishes from across the country, inspired by the street-food bazaars that pop up around Ramadan. Expect a contemporary touch with dishes such as duck samosas with apricot and medjool dates; crispy school prawns with curry leaves and turmeric; pav bhaji (cauliflower curry with milk bread); palak paneer with St David Dairy cheese; tandoor chicken with ghee roast sauce; flounder in coconut curry, and more.
Seating is available inside the Cricketers Bar and outside on its terrace. Bookings are recommended, with a small number of seats available for walk-ins.
Thursdays to Sundays from 12pm to 9pm.
