Multiply at Melbourne Fringe Festival
After many months of isolation, choreographer Stephanie Lake is inviting Melbournians to unite (in socially distanced fashion) for Multiply, an outdoor dance event hosted by Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Lake is no stranger to ambitious undertakings, having overseen up to 50 bodies on stage at once for the Fringe highlight Colossus in 2018.
Billed as “contemporary movement for the amateur body,” Multiply is open to people of all skill levels, and will celebrate movement itself in the wake of an incredibly restricted year.
You’ll learn the moves on the day and observe social distancing while partaking in an “epic ode to community” that’s sure to exorcise an awful lot of accumulated anxiety and angst. It will also be filmed by Melbourne Fringe, ensuring your immortality in the public record.
Participants will need to be available from 2 to 5.30pm on Saturday 28th November, gathering in Prahran Square.
Click here to register by 11.59pm on Monday 16th Nov – or until the maximum number of participants has been reached.
