Mould: A Cheese Festival

Magdalen Laundry, Abbotsford Convent
1 St Heliers Street, Abbotsford
Price: $45
Whether you’re a champion of cheddar, a burrata buff or an emmental enthusiast, there’ll be a fromage for you at one of Australia’s favourite cheese festivals.

Grate news. Organisers Revel (the group behind wine event Pinot Palooza) and Nick Haddow (Bruny Island Cheese Co), are bringing back Mould: A Cheese Festival for another round.

Though the full line-up is yet to be announced, there’ll be fromage from across the country at Abbotsford Convent for two days of cheesy goodness. In past years Mould has featured big cheese producers such as Yarra Valley Dairy, Grandvewe, Section 28, Shaw River, Tolpuddle and Tongola. Expect tastings, conversations and demonstrations, as well as cheese-focused dishes from a range of local cheesemongers and chefs.

It’s not all about the fromage, though – a bar stocked with wines, whisky, sake, beer and cider will help you wash down your washed rind.

Sessions run on Friday June 25 from 4.30pm to 8.30pm and Saturday June 26 from 11am to 3pm and 4pm to 8pm. Tickets are now on sale, and ticketholders to the cancelled 2020 event will have their tickets automatically transferred to the new date.
