The Morning Run(way): New Balance x Kic at Archie’s All Day Cafe
While Melbourne’s attention is focused on runways popping up around the city for fashion, New Balance is teaming up with Australian wellness app Kic to create a different kind of runway that’s less about how you look and more about how you feel.
The two brands – who first partnered in 2023 – are collaborating on a free morning run club through Carlton Gardens, starting and finishing at Archie’s All Day in Fitzroy. Each morning from Sunday March 2 to Wednesday March 5, runners can choose between a 3K or 5K run before returning to the Gertrude Street cafe for a complimentary coffee and breakfast. All fitness levels are welcome, and there’ll be opportunities to try New Balance’s triple-pink FuelCell Rebel v4 running shoe – best get there early though, as stock is limited.
The run club meets at 6.45am each day for a warm-up before two different pace groups set off at 7am. Coffee and breakfast will be served between at Archie’s 7.30am and 9.30am – freebies are capped daily, so early arrivals are encouraged.
“The pressure to look a certain way is amplified at this time of year. These inclusive running events are here for anyone who needs to take a break from comparison,” Kic co-founder Laura Henshaw said in a statement. “I used to run because I hated my body, but now I run to look after it – a mindset flip that is undeniably freeing.”
