MMW: Swell at The Carton Hotel

Most musicians will tell you music is about more than just listening.

During Melbourne Music Week, an entire disused floor of The Carlton Club will be transformed into a sonic exploration by creative director Janenne Willis, New York-based architect Brooks Atwood and Melbourne's music man about town, Edd Fisher.

Featuring a surprising mix of genres including psychedelic funk, contemporary improvised jazz, cutting-edge beatmakers, dreamy soundscapes, vocal harmonies and Americana, the music of Swell has been chosen to challenge and complement the architecture of the space. Show from 9pm–12am
