Mini Mega Makers Workshop
Visitors to Melbourne Museum are often struck by the size of its exhibits, from the towering dinosaur skeletons to the champion racehorse Phar Lap.
This summer, though, it’s shrinking down and zooming in, exploring the world of models and miniatures that play with scale in Mini Mega Model Museum, which will display 300 models from the museum’s own collection.
And from December 27 to January 27, a series of model-making workshops for kids will also run twice daily, giving small humans a chance to learn the art of model-making are produced.
They’ll also contribute to two expansive models, and create one special model of their own that they can take home to create a stop-motion animation.
Each session starts on the museum’s ground floor in front of the Forest Gallery and includes a tour of the exhibition.
The two-and-a-half hour sessions are designed for kids aged six to 12.
Daily from 10.30am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 4pm.
