Mile End Bagels makes some of the best in town, inspired by the wood-fired bagelries of Montreal. And siblings Ellie and Sam Studd have cheese running through their veins, as the youngest children of fromage specialist and TV host Will Studd.
And for the holidays, they’re joining forces for a bagel special inspired by the day after Christmas: a take on the classic leftover sandwich.
Dubbed the “Baby Cheesus Bagel”, it uses a Mile End ring filled with Le Dauphin Double Crème – made with rich cow’s milk from France’s Rhone Valley – shaved turkey breast care of Meatsmith, crispy streaky bacon, cranberry sauce, rocket (“the mistletoe of the fresh herb family”) and Kewpie mayonnaise.
Available at Mile End Bagels in Fitzroy and Brunswick, December 13–19.
