Mickey Mouse Arthouse
This summer Melbourne Central will be home to a huge Mickey Mouse exhibition featuring 90 interpretations of the iconic cartoon character by 90 local and international artists.
Curator Eddie Zammit has enlisted a range of artists to contribute to the exhibition, including street artist Justine McAllister, illustrator and graphic designer Jamie Browne, and muralist George Rose (to name a few).
Every artist featured has their own take on the iconic Disney character, whether it’s through illustration, graphic design or photography; the exhibition includes both classic cartoons and abstract interpretations.
You’ll be able to purchase Mickey-inspired merchandise such as Radio Velvet tees featuring art from the show and many of the stores in Melbourne Central are also celebrating Mickey’s birthday with limited-edition products.
Bonds, Cotton On, Levi’s, Pandora, Peter Alexander, Vans, and Zing Pop Culture are all contributing. Think Mickey-covered rompers for the small humans in your life or even a pair of vintage-Mickey Vans.
Daily from 10am to 7pm.
