A weekend celebration of cured meats is returning to Melbourne for its sixth round of salami tastings, workshops, Italian cooking and hearty competition.
Based on previous years, at least six thousand people are expected to attend the salami gathering at Welcome to Thornbury.
There will be a Grand Salumi Garage showcasing salami tastings from Italian, Spanish, German and eastern European traditions.
And while you’re taste testing slices of salami, be sure to vote in the People’s Choice Award.
Visitors can get hands-on with demonstrations by local salami producers and learn to make their own salami in the designated Makers Area.
Make sure you don’t miss the official Procession of the Pig at 4.30pm, where the new salami-making champion is announced.
