Melbourne Italian Festa
After a brief hiatus in 2020, the long-standing Melbourne Italian Festa is once again taking over Lygon Street for an all-day party dedicated to Italian cuisine, heritage and culture.
Vendors and exhibitors are lining Argyle Square to offer pizza, arancini, arrosticini, pasta, cannoli and more. There's also an aperitivo bar to grab drinks from, and a program of entertainers that includes singers, performers and live music.
Cooking classes will take place throughout the day, with demonstrations on tiramisu, prosciutto, parmigiana de melanzane (or eggplant parmigiana), handmade pasta and more.
At the Segmento VIP lounge, award-winning pizzaiolo Johnny Di Francesco is hosting a masterclass on making bread dough and transforming it into a delicious pizza. His popular food businesses 400 Gradi and Zero Gradi will also be serving up food throughout the day.
Tickets are free, but pre-registration is required.
