Mamma Mia! The Musical
Calling all dancing queens – you can dance, you can jive and have the time of your life at beloved juke box musical Mamma Mia! The Musical!
The original production opened on London’s West End in 1999 and is still playing. This production is a re-staging of the critically acclaimed 2017 production directed by Gary Young. Naturally, it’ll be an Abba-fueled performance featuring 22 of the Swedish group’s greatest hits, with favourites like Dancing Queen, Voulez-Vous, SOS and Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! to boogie along too.
Following writer Catherine Johnson’s tale of Sophie, a young bride-to-be on a quest to discover the identity of her father before her wedding day, the feel-good production is one of the world’s most well-known musical hits, seen by over 65 million people across the globe and spawning two hit movies (Thank You for the Music, and thank you for Colin Firth in sparkly turquoise bell-bottom flares).
For this production, stepping into the platform boots of Donna Sheridan is Elise McCann, with her daughter and bride-to-be Sophie played by emerging actor Sarah Krndija. Playing the roles of Sophie’s three potential fathers are Martin Crewes, Drew Livingston and Tim Wright, while her fiance Sky is played by actor Lewis Francis.
Mamma Mia! The Musical is produced by Michael Coppel, Louise Withers and Linda Bewick – the team behind Six the Musical.
