Madeleine De Proust Pop-Up Afternoon Tea at Yugen Tea Bar

Patisserie perfecters Hyo Ju Park and Rong Yao Soh, who’ve both worked in Michelin-starred restaurants, opened Madeleine de Proust Patisserie in 2023. Turning out a wide array of seashell-shaped bakes – all with a signature bump – the bakery relies on the duo’s meticulous approach to culinary arts honed in some of the world’s best kitchens.

Now they’ve channelled their know-how into a book for home bakers, Madeleines: Simple Bakes for Every Mood, and Broadsheet Access members can get a taste of what they’re cooking at an exclusive pop-up afternoon tea at Yugen Tea Bar on Saturday April l8.

Guests at the event can expect four courses dedicated to Soh and Park’s favourite treat, including a mini madeleine flight (featuring five bite-size pieces) and further rounds of classic and more experimental flavours. Drinks, including tea and alcohol, will be available for purchase on the day, as will copies of the book.
