Ten Years of Lulie Tavern
Abbotsford bar Lulie has been serving cold beers, bangin’ burgers and good times for a decade now. The retro, rock’n’roll destination is always buzzing with locals gathered around pool tables, BYO records spinning in the corner, live music performances and its annual street party Luliepalooza.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary (and say thanks to the community), co-owners Jon Farrell and Brendan Kennedy are throwing a week-long party of classic pub events and nostalgic specials from the past.
March 31, Split the G challenge
To kickstart the celebrations, nearly 225 people will attempt to split the G with a free glass of Guiness. Sign up here.
April 1, Local All Stars pool competition
Local musician Our Carlson will host a special edition of Lulie’s regular Tuesday pool competition – this time with a $500 bar tab prize up for grabs.
April1, Brico x Lulie at Full Moon Fever
Carlton North wine bar Brico is teaming up with Lulie for a special one-off menu served upstairs at its Cali-inspired rooftop bar Full Moon Fever. Come for pork and prawn burgers, devilled eggs and potato cakes with taramasalata. There’ll also be a curated wine list featuring a special drop from Limus Wines. Plus, local musician Liam McGorry will be performing live from 6pm till late.
April 2, Locals Night
For one night, the team is bringing back Lulie’s Wednesday special: $12 burgers and $18 jugs
April 3, Heartache Tonight Country Extravaganza
Throwing it back to Lulie’s popular country music night, there’ll be a line-up of local bands and DJs with a headline set from Henry Wagons and Queenie’s soon-to-be-announced project, Hank & Queenie.
April 4, Headbangers Ball free gig
Head in for a night of rock’n’roll. There’ll be performances from locals DJ Pistol Pete Whelan, Leatherman, Private Function and DJ Brat Paisley.
April 5, Birthday Disco Fun
Hit the dancefloor and get the party properly started with sets from DJ Ginny, DJ Dad Bod and House of Cheese, plus a secret guest performance.
April 6, Family-Friendly Party
Round out the celebrations with a daytime, all-ages boogie featuring DJ Bowie and DJ Sweetie. There’ll also be a pop-up tattoo stall by Sinead Tattoos. DM them on Instagram to book your slot.
