The Lost Lands 2018
The Lost Lands is an award-winning festival that caters to parents and kids in equal measure, with music, art and kid-friendly programming.
Over two big days in November (on Melbourne Cup weekend) it will spread through the grounds of the historical Werribee Mansion – less than an hour’s drive from Melbourne.
Tim Finn, You Am I, the Jungle Giants, the Teskey Brothers, Clare Bowditch, Kate Miller-Heidke, Didirri and many more will provide the live soundtrack from the two stages, and under the Little Big Top you’ll find comedy, performance and circus for kids.
Around the gardens, roaming bed-sheet ghosts promise to play spooktacular party games; you’ll find circus workshops, vintage festival rides and even an outdoor rock’n’roll school; and in the evening you can curl up under the stars at the sleeping-bag cinema.
There’ll be a marketplace with food and craft stalls, as well as a few visiting food trucks, including Beatbox Kitchen, the Taco Truck and Billy Van Creamy.
Families can camp, glamp, or book a room at the five-star Werribee Park Mansion Hotel, where taking a time out with room service, wi-fi and a dip in the pool is always an option for tired mums and dads.
Tickets begin at $99 for adults and $25 for kids for the one day non-camping option, or cost up to $180 and $40 for the full two-day, two-night camping experience.
Glamping and hotel options cost more, and festival entry for kids two years and under is free.
