This event has been postponed until winter 2021 due to coronavirus.
A field of light, luminous walkways, sparkling trees, floating lights on a lake, glowing tunnels. These are just some of the large-scale installations you'll be able to wander through as part of Lightscape – a one-and-a-half-kilometre walk in Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens in winter 2020.
Ours is the first garden in Australia to host this after-dark installation of light and sound, which more than a million people in the UK have experienced. It was developed seven years ago at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, and will be on show in the US – at the Chicago Botanic Gardens – before arriving in Melbourne.
Tickets for this event are timed in 15-minute increments, and you should allow 90 minutes to explore. First entry at 5.45pm, last entry at 8.45pm.
