Lenko – Melbourne-based fashion designer Dana Lenko’s eponymous label – is known for its joy-sparking, cult-favourite animal sweaters. They’re a yearly sell-out when she releases them online in winter.
But this year, Lenko is running a four-day-only pop-up in Ripponlea – the first since 2018 – so you can shop the playful designs (and meet the designer behind them) IRL.
The stars of the 2022 collection include blue-footed boobies (the seabird), red pandas, weedy sea dragons, quolls, nudibranchs and echidnas – just to name a few. And as usual, a portion of the proceeds will help raise money for animal care and conservation in Australia; $10 from every sweater sold at the pop-up will go to Wires Wildlife Rescue.
And, available for the first time in Australia, will be Lenko’s Maxicos collaboration with Argentinian designer Vale Simon: beautiful, ornately embroidered robes.
From 10am to 6pm.
