Carlton restaurant Capitano is bringing Lûmé’s Orlando Marzo – recently crowned World Class Bartender of the Year 2018 – to their bar for an afternoon of aperitivo and snacks called “The Journey Continues”.
Marzo and Capitano's bar manager Darren Leaney have created a list of Sunday afternoon-friendly drinks for the party, which will run from 3pm to 6pm. (They say the menu has been designed to ensure a hangover-free Monday morning.) There's the "Cantalupo Sipper", a non-alcoholic cocktail that tastes like rockmelon; the "Panettone Old Fashioned", which is made by infusing milk with panettone, raisins and rum; the "Roman Collins", a spin on the classic gin cocktail made with Italicus (an Italian liquor with notes of lavender, rose, chamomile and bergamot); and a “Passata Bloody Mary” with an extra hit of umami from miso.
Snacks by Capitano's executive chef Casey Wall will be available on the day, including a new Detroit-style deep-dish pizza served by the square.
