It’s Called, Survival by Charlotte Allingham

Thu 2nd August, 2018 – Thu 23rd August, 2018
9:00am – 3:00pm
Schoolhouse Studios
81 Rupert Street, Collingwood
It's the first solo exhibition from the artist whose work went viral on Australia Day.

Charlotte Allingham is a Wiradjuri woman and digital artist who also produces her own zines and comics.

Her first solo show It’s Called, Survival focuses on Indigenous women and how they find self-worth in resistance and protecting their people in the current political environment.

One of Allingham's illustrations went viral on Australia Day this year when it was picked up online by those who want to change the date of Australia Day. The response to the artwork was the push she needed to fully embrace her Indigenous heritage and include it in her artwork.

Now through her work Allingham hopes to empower others to do the same.
