Hospitality for Palestine Bake Sale at Pinotta
Fitzroy North restaurant Pinotta is hosting a bake sale fundraiser for Palestine Australia Relief and Action on Sunday May 26 from 10am until sold out.
There’ll be signature and one-off items including home-baked cakes from Julia Busuttil Nishimura; biscuits and spiced Negroni marmalade from Philippa Sibley of Pinotta; pickles from La Pinta; cheese and smoked kabanosy (Polish sausage) sausage rolls from Zackary Leon Furst of Bar Liberty; and toasted rye and chocolate chip cookies from Patti Chimkire of Mali Bakes.
The bake sale is being organised by Pinotta owner Heidi Modra and former Pinotta employee Alessandra de Luca.
There’ll also be a silent auction with items including a custom hibachi for domestic use valued at $1950 from The Brick Chef.
Other powerhouse bakers, chefs, venues and food brands including A1 Bakery, Back Alley Bakes, Manze, Iris the Bakery, Thy Caketh and Tom Sarafian, will also be contributing to the event.
All proceeds will go to Palestine Australia Relief and Action, a charity founded and led by Australian Palestinians, which works to support Palestinian migrants and refugees settling in Australia and champions Palestinian voices.
