Horn Please Celebrates 15 Years

Horn Please is an “unauthentic” Indian diner in Fitzroy North from restaurateur Amarjeet Singh – the brains behind venues including Bibi Ji , Daughter in Law , Pinky Ji , and Dhaba at the Mill.

This August, Horn Please is turning 15 – a rare longevity which speaks to how well-loved the venue is. The birthday celebration will run over three days and nights, from Friday August 15 to Sunday August 17.

On Friday night, come for dinner and a live belly dancing performance. On Saturday, it’s open for lunch and dinner, and at night you can watch a dhol (traditional drumming) set while you eat. Same goes on Sunday, though the evening’s music performance remains a surprise.

Named after the popular hand-painted slogans that decorate the back of vehicles across India, Horn Please showcases local ingredients cooked with care. The considered menu alternates regularly and all dishes highlight locally sourced ingredients, but it’s the street food section of the menu that really brings in the crowds.

As with all of Singh’s restaurants, the space complements the vibrant menu – the walls are adorned with kitsch Indian studio portraits and hand painted Hindi proverbs.
