Holy Water Craft Distillery Festival
If you’d rather drink locally made gin, rum, whisky or agave at communion than wine, this new festival will be your salvation. Holy Water brings together over 30 of Victoria’s best small-batch distilleries for a day of imbibing and celebration.
On the roster: Naught Distilling, Bass & Flinders, The Melbourne Gin Company, Boatrocker, Anther Gin, Great Ocean Road Gin, Jimmy Rum, Mountain Distilling, Brogan’s Way, Reed & Co and heaps more from across the state. They’ll be pouring free tastings of their spirits, straight or with a mixer, and you can grab beer, wine and hot toddies at the festival bar.
Pair your tipple with charcuterie from Zsa’s, Pearl Diver oysters, barbeque from Burn City Smokers, caviar bumps, pizza, paella, tacos and more.
Take a joyride over the water with The Reveller ticket – it includes entry to the festival plus return ferry trips from Southgate to Williamstown, complete with cocktails, a grazing station and live music onboard.
There’ll also be a series of masterclasses over the three-day event. Mix three no-to-low-alcohol cocktails with Australian Bartender of the Year Nick Tesar (Bar Liberty); learn how to make a proper Martini with a former Gin Palace bartender or kombucha cocktails with Monceau; and walk through some cocktail and oyster pairings with Speakeasy Group’s Alex Boon.
There are two sessions to choose from: 1pm to 5pm and 6pm to 10pm.
Tickets are $65 per person and include entry to a four-hour session with free tastings and live music, plus a tasting glass to take home; The Reveller tickets cost $135 and include all the entry perks plus a return ferry service. Masterclasses are a mix of free and paid.
