Movies by the Bay

Free summer entertainment for the whole family.

Hobsons Bay Council has returned with its free, family-friendly summer events program.

Movies by the Bay is back with pop-up cinemas in two outdoor locations, Altona’s Logan Reserve and Commonwealth Reserve in Williamstown, with options for kids and grown-ups, too.

Take the family along to see Captain Underpants in February, or ditch them for friends and catch a Saturday-night screening of Wonder Woman or Ali's Wedding.

Lovers of free music can also soak up the last of the Summer Sounds series in February, featuring NEDA All Colour Project, Johnny Rollins, and The Rrrrrrockets. Family-friendly opening acts have been added to this year’s program too, so the kids don’t miss out on all the fun.

Skating enthusiasts can get involved in Summer Sounds: Skate on February 17, with skate, scooter and BMX competitions being held at Altona Skate Park. This will be followed by live sets from Jungle Cuffs, Plaza Trg and winners of the Western Metro Regional Battle of the Bands, Hollow December.
