Quidditch is back, the search for Voldemort’s horcruxes begins, and our heroes find themselves in and out of love.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s series of Harry Potter live-score performances continues with the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It’s the latest instalment in the boy wizard’s journey to get the MSO treatment, following Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in August.

Conductor Nicholas Buc will lead the orchestra in performing Nicholas Hooper’s magical score, which was nominated for a Grammy in 2010. The entire film will play on a big screen, uninterrupted, in high-definition.

In his sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry begins searching for Lord Voldemort’s horcruxes, becomes captain of the Quidditch team, and develops feelings for his best friend’s younger sister. Meanwhile, Draco Malfoy begins acting (more) suspiciously (than usual).

Tickets go on sale Monday, August 19 at 10am.
