With spring on its way, QV Melbourne is launching a range of new activities for its Happy/Days program.
At the heart of it all is artist Carla O'Brien's three-metre long rainbow Neon Archway. O'Brien gained recognition in 2016 when Katy Perry wore a pair of her glowing neon wings to Burning Man festival in Nevada. The artist is also creating a neon art room in QV Square with a candy wall and opportunities for Instagram moments in front of inspirational messaging.
Inside Happy Space you can meet O'Brien at 6pm on Thursday August 29 and 6pm Friday September 6. Then on Friday September 13 you can pat a pup from Guide Dogs Victoria.
The custom-built Happy Bakery will be giving away 250 freebies from 2pm to 5pm every weekday. There’ll be fairy floss on Mondays, rainbow cheese toasties on Tuesdays, rainbow s’mores on Wednesdays, rainbow hot chocolates on Thursdays, and DIY fairy bread on Fridays.
Elsewhere you can compete in a digital scavenger hunt. Download the app and discover tactile and digital installations to win a share of a $12,000 prize pool that includes gift cards ranging between $30 and $500, a Dyson hairdryer, free churros and coffee, and more.
