Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton is one of the United States’ great cultural touchstones of the past 10 years. Premiering off-broadway at the Public Theater in early 2015, it went on to receive a record-breaking 16 nominations at the 2016 Tonys and won 11 awards that year, including Best Musical. It also received the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a 2016 Grammy for Beat Musical Theatre Album.

Hamilton tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton through modern musical forms such as hip-hop, jazz and R&B. Since its debut, the musical has had a profound impact on the country’s culture, politics and education.

When it premiered in Sydney, the theatrical juggernaut broke box office records and quickly became the most sought-after ticket in town. Hamilton brings Miranda’s music and lyrics, Thomas Kail’s direction, Andy Blankenbuehler’s choreography and Alex Lacamoire’s orchestration, but with an all-new Australian cast led by Jason Arrow as Hamilton, with Lyndon Watts in the role of Aaron Burr, Chloe Zuel as Eliza Hamilton, Akina Edmonds as Angelica Schuyler and Matu Ngaropo as George Washington.
