Hamilton $10 Tickets Digital Lottery
Lin-Manuel Miranda's hugely popular musical Hamilton is set to open in Melbourne on March 15 – and to make tickets more accessible, a digital lottery has been launched with a select number of $10 tickets for each performance.
The first lottery for the Melbourne season will run from 12.01am on Friday March 4 to 1pm on Thursday March 10 for tickets to performances from March 15 to 20.
From March 11, punters will have from each Friday at 12.01am to the following Thursday at 1pm to enter the draw via the app for the chance to purchase two $10 tickets for the following week's shows. Winners will be notified via email, text message and mobile push notification from 1pm to 4pm on Thursdays, and will have one hour to claim and pay for their tickets before they are offered to another entrant.
Hamilton premiered off-Broadway in 2015, gaining critical acclaim – including 16 Tony nominations – for using a combination of hip-hop, R&B, jazz and Broadway musical styles to tell the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton.
The Melbourne iteration of the show – direct from Sydney – will see Miranda’s music and lyrics, Thomas Kail’s direction, Andy Blankenbuehler’s choreography and Alex Lacamoire’s orchestration, but with an all-Aussie cast.
