When Half Acre co-owner Adam Wright-Smith lived in New York, he spent many weekends grazing on the famous all-you-can-eat buffet brunch spread at hotel and restaurant Soho House. No bain-maries here – only a lavish, plentiful banquet with everything from crunchy granola and fruit, to mounds of lox and bagels.
Following a sell-out trial run at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, every Saturday and Sunday, Half Acre's rustic kitchen table will be home to overflowing platters of brunch favourites.
That means Challah French toast; Tunisian-style brik pastry filled with spiced capsicum, tomato and eggs; smoked salmon and crème fraiche, dill and pickles; roasted figs with stracciatella; fresh fruit; and pear and walnut crumble.
There'll also be a revolving DIY bar stocked with citrus and vodka, and trimmings such as ginger crisps and cinnamon sticks. And there'll be live music, too.
A $65 ticket gets you unlimited food and unlimited custom-made – by you – cocktails.
From 11am to 2pm.
